November:
Princess Alice Adoption Home
The month of November gave our staff members an opportunity to spend some time with the beautiful babies at the Princess Alice Adoption Home. We also treated 23 care givers at the home with shopping vouchers as a thank you for their hard work and dedication to the children at the home.
This organisation cares for babies and toddlers (aged newborn to four years old) in a healthy and loving nursery environment. The home provides 24-hour residential care to babies who have been consented for adoption, abandoned or occasionally removed from family care.
Rays of Hope
We closed the year with donations from our staff of various preloved items that can be sold at Rays of Hope’s monthly bazaar to raise funds for their existing projects. In addition, the company sponsored two children’s creche fees for a year at the Rays of Hope ECD center in Alex and provided two laptops for their social workers.
Manger Care Centre
We also donated money to the Manger Care Centre for their Manna Soup Kitchen project that provides and delivers food to 40 early childhood development centres (about 2 000 children), an old age home and a centre for disabled children in the Daveyton and Etwatwa area.
Pebbles Project
The company also donated funds to Pebbles Project towards 50 children’s stationery packs in the Western Cape. This donation provided 50 children with basic school essentials, including a school backpack and a complete stationery kit.
Project House of Hope
We donated funds to Project House of Hope, an NPO that looks after abandoned, abused, and neglected babies and toddlers in crisis in the Pretoria area.
Kids Haven
We bought and packed 100 party packs for a creche graduation at Kids Haven, an organisation that aims to reach children in need, especially those without parental care, to provide shelter, protection, education, training, and therapy.
December:
In December, we extended our support to various charity organisations, providing resources for creche graduations, caring for abandoned babies, and ensuring children have the necessary school supplies.
Supporting Letsibogo Girls High School
Additionally, Peregrine Capital donated funds through the SAME Foundation to help build a dormitory at Letsibogo Girls High School in Soweto. Due to the socio-economic conditions in the community that the school serves, the school identified the need for the Matric learners to board at the school in preparation for and during exams and in the holidays throughout the year. This initiative aims to provide a safe and conducive environment for Matric learners, enabling them to focus on their studies and achieve their full potential. This project will ultimately benefit 1507 black female learners enrolled at the school.
Career Day Expo 2023
In August, our female staff members came together to organise a Career Day Expo for 30 Grade 10 learners from Letsibogo Girls High School in Soweto, along with participants from our learnership programmes.
In its second year, the event provided a dynamic platform for our dedicated team to generously impart their industry wisdom, igniting a spark of motivation in these young women as they stood at the crossroads of subject choices and the commencement of their professional journeys.
We trust that we have inspired these young ladies with confidence to chase their aspirations fervently and contribute profoundly to their chosen fields.
A heartfelt thank you to our esteemed presenters, your dedication fuels a brighter tomorrow.
August:
Nourishing Futures
The second organisation supported in the month of June was the Wits Food Bank. In commemoration of Youth Month, we made a monetary contribution dedicated to addressing the pressing issue of hunger among university students who have received funding for their studies but are facing challenges in meeting their basic needs, including nourishment.
Through this organisation’s commendable efforts, food parcels are distributed twice a week, ensuring that students in need have access to nourishing meals.
By joining forces with the Wits Food Bank, we are helping to combat student hunger, empowering young minds to pursue their academic aspirations without the burden of food insecurity.
Upstanding Citizenry
The Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Center, contributing funding towards raising crucial awareness about the atrocities of genocide, specifically focusing on the Holocaust and Rwandan genocides. The centre’s educational programs play a vital role in sensitising society to the devastating consequences of prejudice, racism, antisemitism, and xenophobia.
By shedding light on the dangers of indifference, apathy, and silence, these programs emphasise the urgent need for active voices against hate speech and human rights violations within our own communities. The centre’s efforts serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of combating these injustices and fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society.
June:
In June, we extended our support to two organisations:

Investing in Education and Technology
During the month of September, Peregrine Capital made a monetary contribution to Code Ngwana. This is an organisation that teaches coding and computer skills to children in Hilbrow, targeting children between the age of 3 and 12. The funds were used to purchase coding books and other teaching materials, provide headsets for kids, upgrade their learning environment to include a security door, lab signage, paint the walls, bean bags etc. Through the donation Code Ngwana was able to achieve significant impact in creating a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment for the children of Hilbrow. Not only were they able to provide a space that facilitates coding education but also a space that fosters holistic literacy and academic success.
Princess Alice Adoption Home
Our staff members also contributed essential supplies for babies and toddlers for the benefit of the children at the Princess Alice Adoption Home, while the business donated a laptop for their social worker.
Casual Day for Disability Awareness
September saw the team come together to support the disabled around us. We did this through the company-wide purchase of casual day stickers, so that in our own small way, we, too, were able to contribute to raising funds for persons with disabilities.
July:
67 Minutes for Madiba
In July, we honoured the legacy of Madiba through our participation in the 2023 Mandela Day initiative. Thanks to Rise Against Hunger Africa our team of volunteers were able to pack 3,240 meals in 67 minutes in honour of the late President Mandela. These meals supported children in need through the RAH Africa ECD Connect program. In a world where food insecurity persists, our partnership with Rise Against Hunger offers a tangible way to make a difference. Join us in this mission by visiting here.
May:
Nurturing a brighter future through education
The month of May saw us supporting four organisations:
Food & Trees for Africa
A donation towards a Permaculture Starter Pack which provides essentials for a school or community to start a food garden. Through our partnership with Food & Trees for Africa, we have provided gardening tools, seeds, seedlings, compost, educational materials, and engaging introductory workshops to Luthando Day Care and OVC Care Center. This contribution provided vital support to nearly 400 children in this resource-challenged community, many of whom grapple with malnutrition and poverty, often exacerbated by high unemployment rates and parental strain. Together, we are sowing the seeds of a brighter future where nourishment, knowledge, and sustainable practices thrive.
Just Grace
A financial donation to Just Grace's Youth Development Programme, that offers academic assistance, coding, computer training, life skills, job readiness, personal growth, lateral development and psychosocial support. Our contribution has benefited 200 students in grades 8-12, enabling them to participate in these valuable activities.
Afrika Tikkun
Sponsorship of three students to receive a one-year vocational training through Afrika Tikkun’s Agripreneurship Programme. This initiative serves two crucial objectives: establishing career pathways in agriculture for young individuals aged 18-35 who aspire to pursue farming and providing them with high-quality and sustainable training and placement within the agricultural sector.
The comprehensive training spans 12 months, starting with an intensive education program at one of Afrika Tikkun's farming sites for the initial 4 to 6 months. Subsequently, the students embark on a valuable 9-month work experience placement at a commercial farm, where they seamlessly integrate with the existing labour force.
Through our sponsorship, we are empowering these students to cultivate their skills and knowledge, equipping them for a successful future in agriculture. Together with Afrika Tikkun, we are nurturing a new generation of agripreneurs who will make a lasting impact in the field, fostering sustainable growth and innovation.
Leap Science & Maths Schools
A monetary donation used to cover Leap's academic interventions. This includes an extended (9 hour) school day, Saturday classes, holiday programs and matric study camps with extra maths and science lessons. These interventions assist the students in achieving excellent academic results.
A portion of the donation is allocated to procure stationery, educational materials such as textbooks and printed worksheets, and learner food. Recognising that these learners come from disadvantaged backgrounds, Leap ensures that they are provided with a nourishing, hot cooked lunch every day to sustain them through their extended school hours.
Through our contribution, we are actively uplifting these students, enabling them to overcome obstacles and unlock their true potential. Together, we are building a brighter future, one where education transcends boundaries and empowers individuals to thrive.
In conclusion, our participation in the 25for25 charity projects has been instrumental in creating a tangible difference across all regions where our company operates, nurturing employee-driven initiatives, and uplifting numerous individuals' lives. We express deep gratitude for the chance to contribute positively to our communities and look forward to continued effort in the future. As we journey forward, we invite all stakeholders to join us in embracing this shared commitment, amplifying our communal impact. Together, we can pave the way for a brighter future, where education flourishes, the environment thrives, and philanthropy becomes an inseparable part of our DNA.
In Conclusion
In March 2023, we launched our '25 for 25 Charity Campaign,' marking a significant milestone in our 25-year journey. This initiative has been designed to reinforce our commitment to positively impacting society, where a little help can go a long way.
Under this campaign, we set forth an objective: to contribute towards 25 projects, thoughtfully categorised into two focal areas. The first category entails forging strategic partnerships with non-profit organisations that share our unwavering dedication to nurturing education and safeguarding the environment. Through these alliances, we can amplify our collective efforts and champion causes that lie at the core of our corporate ethos.
The second category, equally imperative in its essence, centers around empowering our exceptional staff members to channel their passion and dedication toward charitable endeavors they hold dear. We recognise and deeply value the personal connections our staff have with various charitable organisations. By endorsing their proactive involvement and supporting their chosen causes, we foster a culture of compassion and social responsibility within our corporate family.
Through the '25 for 25 Charity Campaign,' we commemorated our remarkable anniversary and ignited a renewed sense of purpose within our organisation. Every contribution counts, and collectively, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and the communities we operate in.

The future belongs to girls, and we are here to support them on their educational journey!
Animal Welfare
Our team also supported The 9th Day Animal Rescue Centre, a rehabilitation & rehoming Centre for all animals based in Krugersdorp.
